A few weeks ago I headed an hour outside of Tucson for a joy-filled, exploration-driven Mt Lemmon photo shoot. A sweet friend of mine (who happens to be a wonderful candid-style photographer) asked me to document an afternoon of her and her husband and their three kids enjoying one of their favorite mountain locations. We took a not-often followed little trail in the hills and passed through a steel-enforced tunnel that ended at the best little picnic spot. After raspberries, cheese, and some sparkling cider we explored the surrounding forest, taking pictures with Sarah’s Polaroid as we traveled. What care these parents had for their kids. Dad played with baby boy as he crawled through the leaves, and mom hiked up big rocks and down steep slopes with the two older kids. Such a gorgeous afternoon. I rolled down my windows to catch every last bit of mountain air as I drove down the mountain that day. I can’t wait for an excuse to get back up there during my next Tucson trip. So thanks, sweet family, for asking me to join you that relaxing afternoon. I hope you enjoy your pictures.
And what about you? Are you interested in documenting your family’s afternoon? Call me. I’d love to join you.
