Two weeks ago, I watched a beautiful scene unfold. Five grown kids, their loving parents, and their supportive and caring friends all gathered together for what would likely be the last time for many years. It had, in fact, been more than a year since their last meeting, and this time they were sending off one of their own to the other side of the world. Soon she would leave them so that she could love and serve displaced families and children from the war-torn regions of the globe, far from safety of her parents’ Las Cruces home. I know their hearts were heavy, yet full and hope-filled, as they celebrated together that night. Delicious homemade Mexican food filled their stomachs, while incessant laughter and smells of strong coffee filled the room that night. There were many, many hugs and lots of prayer for this dear lady. I know they will miss her. I know I will miss her.
Sweet friends- I hope that these pictures will be a time-capsule of sorts for you all; that as you look through them your memory will be spurred, your hearts will be lightened, and your prayers would be more fervent. Enjoy,
Yvette, your Las Cruces family reunion photographer
